Pictured: Breaking text into particles with Kinect I have been working on a little project at Fashionbuddha which involves using the Kinect to manipulate type. Working from my Kinect SDK block and the recent particle studies , I've prototyped out an experiment which uses Kinect input to break type out into particles. Users are represented as particles themselves, which track velocity to drop and throw little pieces of themselves. The text is broken into tiles (textured quads) which each have their own little particle systems. The application has a several dozen parameters which can be tweaked and saved (not pictured). I recorded a video of a setting I liked. Real time performance is far better than what's here, as it's a bit slow to bounce out frames. Music in the video is "Fragments" by J-One .

its just awesome
